Q: Quick Question

Hi everyone. I just one one little question... My 3 month & 1 week old daughter has been .V.E.R.Y fussy the last 2 days. I'm pretty sure she's teething but now .I'm afraid she's getting sick too. The last 2 days her poop has been a nasty looking dark greenish color, not diareah (sp?) but kinda runny if that makes any sense at all... Then a little while ago she burped and spit up a yellowish gunk... What is goin on?? She's scarin me..

Ooo the exact same thing happened to my sister with her little boy and 1 week after she noticed his first tooth cutting through

Ohh god... This has been awful, nothing I do helps her or makes her feel better ... I gave her a little tylenol lastnight & that seemed to help for a while. I have orajel but how exactly do I use it?

Is that teething gel? I only ask because i'm in the uk and have never heard of it

Urrm I think it should say on the packet but from when I used it on my neice and nephew I just washed my hands squeezed a small amount onto my finger and massaged it into their gums

Oh ok... I'm a little afraid to try it because my mom told me she might gag when I do it. Thanks so much for the replies ...

Is there any other tips or little tricks to help babies during their teething?? I've never ever been around a baby while they were teething so I have no idea what to expect or anything...

Sometimes they do gag but wouldn't you if you had someones finger in your mouth. Urrm not that I can think of because my baby is yet to be born so i'm only going off when I lived with my sister, he partner and their kids and it was a while ago when they began teething so I guess just comfort them as much as you can and if they are uncomfortable use meds and gel to ease the pain

Do not give your 3 week old orajel. If you read the directions..They have to be 4 months or older....

Call her dr to make sure this is really what's going on. Oni got her 1st teeth at 5 months and didn't throw up and yellow stuff.

I agree with .Sarah. If she's vomiting yellow gunk and her bowel movements are off, that's a sign that you should call her pediatrician and get her checked out. And don't put that stuff in her mouth. If she wants to chew on something, give her a teether from the freezer. Check her temperature and maybe give her some infant tylenol.

I would take her to the doctor. It doesn't sound like teething to me. Have you seen any obvious signs that she's teething?

Danzibelle...What did you read this "info" from a pamphlet?!?!?!

Please hun, do *not* give advice based on past visits with your neice and nephew.

It's not right for you to tell someone to give their baby (3 months at that) orajel if you don't have a baby and know nothing about teething.

I'm sorry if this offended you, but I do *not* want octoberbaby to give her sick baby orajel because 15 year old said it was ok....

I have gave one of my babies orajel and she is not 4 months but you need to talk to your daughters dr first

I agree with .Sarah, again. I understand that you know a few things about little babies from your sister's child, but unless you have intimate knowledge of how to care for infants, you should really refrain from giving advice about child care. Especially concerning giving medications that could be harmful to someone's child.

i didn't know that oragel was to be used from 4 months because the gel my sister had was from 3 months. Ok don't take it out on me because it's not my baby i'm talking about and because I am 15

My dad used vodka or rum on me and my brothers gums when we were teething but I would not use it.
