Q: What to Do? Hysterectomy Or Not

I just got diagnosed with endometriosis and the doctor is telling me to get a hyster. I've been in pain for 3 yrs and lately it has gotten worse. Now I am 32 yrs old and have had a ectopic preg. And stillborn. I have 3 children youngest 5, but I really want one more and so does my husband. Now I believe in god and that he can work miracle because my last child was one and her name is miracle, but I am so confused. My doctor acts like he does not want to do anything else, but that. I have a cyst on my left ovary, but he said that its not harmful. My right tube has been cut due to the tubal pregnancy, but I still have my left one. My bleeding is normal I am just in so much pain and my legs hurt and my feet are starting to hurt. Now I want to be scrapped for now, but I heard that endo can come back quick. I would settle for a partial where the uterus is left ,but if your ovaries are taken out you go through those hormonal stages. Its better to take your uterus out and leave your ovaries in. I know that every bodies are different and it depends on the doctor and what he says, but I really need help. Now I have read alot of people on this website and they have helped, but I have not read about anyone taking these herbal homeopathic remedies that I have read online and do they really work. It is making me miserable and the only way that I am getting through this is the strength of the lord and believing that he can heal. I just had a laparoscopic last week which was not good because of th air pockets still in you and that did not go good with my acid reflux. Please give me some advice. Thank you

Extremely eHealthy
Welcome to ehealth. Although my hysterectomy was due to cancer, I did not want to take any chances of later coming back and having to do another hysterectomy later, I went ahead and did a complete and I have no regrets although I have heard of some women that do. I was the same age that you are and I was finished having kids. It is your choice and yours alone and noone else can make this choice but you. Keep us posted on what you decide and know that I am here for you. You might want to get a second opinion and get the scraping and see how you do beings you want other children.
Good luck!

Hi

just reading your postings.... Like sandyallen I had to get the hyster. Due to cancer also. It all started with the heavy bleeding every so often, then it was a every day thing... Took meds ( it did not work) then did the scrapping and they had found cancer...Etc. I wish I was as fortunately as you two. You at leasst had a chance to have children. Go for second opinions if you have doubt.... But if it comes down to needing a hyster. Then count your blessings, be greatful for what you have and not what will not have. Spend all your time with the kids that you have as kids grow up soooo quickly. I have 7 neices and nephews and love them to death. Dont get me wrong, from time to time I feel sad that I dont have any kids of my own. But I guess if god wanted to give me children I would had a house full. I come from a family of 7 kids.... Take care
