Q: HCG levels after miscarriage
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 13th, 2007
Doctor Question
I'm curious to know how fast HCG levels drop.
Here are mine:

Dec 29- 21,000
10 days later: Jan.8 - 10,000
14 days later: Jan.12- 3,000

So in exactly 2 weeks my levels dropped 18, 000. that's roughly 9,000 a week. and 1,300 a day. Since I was at 3,000 yesterday, is it safe to assume that my levels will drop to zero in a couple of days? I pretty much passed everything yesterday, I'm only having the occasionally spotting this morning, and afternoon. Will my levels start dropping significantly or will they drop at a slower pace?

HCG levels will drop to zero soon or later because the fetus died and was expelled from the uterus (miscarriage).
