Q: Surgery And Iv Glucose

I know a woman who became hypoglycemic after being put on iv for two months due to pregnacy complications, and now i'm worried when I ever have an operation, including a c-section(i had one already 7years ago) and I am put on an iv, would my hypoglycemia get worse?

I've read somewhere that there are some iv fluids that don't affect blood glucose, but my ob-gym is not familiar with that.

Does anybody have any information on this?

Thanks!
Yukja

Can't say I do, you need to talk to your doctor and get them to research this thoroughly. Taking an iv of glucose could feck you up royally.
