Getting Really Nervous
Posted: 01-12-07 03:59am

I am scheduled to have my c-section on tuesday and I am getting really nervous.......I feel horrible abotu this becuse I have done this before....So I shold be ok with it......When I had my son in 2000 they kept him in the nursery for a bit until I could walk...But now the baby is in the room with you, your whole stay.....I have to have someone stay with me to help me with the baby but for the 1st and part of teh 2nd day I will not be able to get up and now I am starting to get worried that teh baby will be colicly, my son was not he hardly ever cried at all.......Is it wrong of me to be feeling this way?

I think everyone is scared and very nervous by the end jenn. I guess just try to keep thinking it will all be worth these feelings and any pain once its over and you have a beautiful little baby. You'll be okay. Hope it goes well goodluck!

I'm pretty sure they'll let you send the baby to the nursery when you need to rest or something, I think the baby rooming with you is an optional thing. We had the baby in with us but the first night i'd been awake for 24 hours and I couldn't stop staring at my new baby so I finally had to send him to the nursery so I could get some sleep. Another night we were just beyond exhausted so we sent him to sleep there for the night. I would've kept him in with us 24/7 but I had a c-section and couldn't really get up and take care of him.

Good luck!

I'll be having my 3rd c-section next month, and i'm a bit nervous about it. There's nothing wrong with feeling apprehensive about it.

The nurses will be able to help you, if it's needed. If you can have someone there with you, it helps greatly.

Good luck .Jen!

They use to do that in teh hospital here but now the baby is in the room with you 24hrs a day and you have to have a companiion stay with you to help you with the baby, they giv eyou all of this information when you register, this way it helps you to learn to deal with your baby. Where I am now the only time they have the baby in the nursery is when you are in recovery and if the child has a health issue. But luckly is most all cases you get a private room and they bring in a cot for your helper to sleep in but they hae to bring their own blanket and provide their own food
