Hey there. I'm curious, what is the procedure for..? Like, for example, gallstones, hernia, or acid reflux or something? I'm wondering because their willingness to operate would probably be determined by how much of a threat the condition that you're having surgery for would be if they didn't operate... Whereas if it were something pretty minor, they might be more likely to wait.
Also, how is your physical health condition other than the weight, and whatever the surgery is for? If you're not very stable, it could definitely influence their decision... As well as if they were worried that you wouldn't be willing to eat enough for efficient recovery, etc. And of course, the surgeon's personal opinion would be a factor...
There's always a chance that they might want you to reach a "healthier" weight before they operate... For example, I had to have knee surgery a while ago and had to hit a target weight before they would do so. But of course it would be a different situation if the surgery were for something that was really threatening your health! But anyway, best of luck! I hope that everything works out alright
