Gallbladder removal & billiary stones
Posted: 01-11-07 11:08am

I had my gallbladder removed about 4 months ago. Since then I have had issues with gas and on occasion diarehea. The biggest issue is I still get the pain in my back/shoulders that feels like I still have my gallbladder. Could you tell me what this could be?

Diarrhea and gas could be caused by the removal of the gallbladder. Pain experienced in the back and shoulders, however, is probably not due to the gallbladder removal. Billiary stones can still be created after gallbladder removal but will get stacked in the bile duct (ductus choledocus). The resulting pain (billiary colic) is the same as the pain experienced when the gallbladder was present (under right ribcage irradiating to the back as a belt round the abdomen).
