I am a 43 year old female who on dec. 11 was diagnosed with multiple pulmonary embolisms. I had a ultra sound test done on my legs and everything showed up normal. I had no swollen areas on my legs, no injuries, don't smoke, not on birth control, no family history of blood clots, no long trips...Nothing. I am concerned as to why I developed these clots and can't find anything on the internet. Almost all of the people with pulmonary embolisms got them from their legs. I am on warfarin now and for the next 5 months and then my doctor said I will come off it and that will be it. I am worried that I will develop more after I stop taking the warfarin. If anyone has had multiple embolisms and can share their experiences here that would be great! I am living with such anxiety now because of the unknown and hope to hear of others who have had mutlitple clots that didn't start from the legs and that got answers as to why they developed them
