I'm a 33 year old male and i've always considered myself to be relatively healthy, but over the last few years i've become ill more often and each time more severly. This past year has been the worst. I've become ill 7 times in the last 12 months. Each time it seems that my cold/flu gets stronger and lasts for 2 weeks (worst part), but then may linger for weeks later.

I fell ill 4 days ago with the flu and now on the 4th day I still have a fever that's up and down between 99-101 (my normal temperature runs around 97.6). My throat is very sore, my ears ache and I have some sinus congestion/drainage. It occurred to me that maybe I have something wrong with my tonsils, but I really have no idea.

Since i've been getting sick more often and worse as time has gone by does tonsils play a role in this in anyway? I don't know if doctors still do many tonsilectomies anymore these day, but does getting them removed sound like that may help?

Thanks for any advice.
