You can't smoke what you don't have.
I unfortunately do not have much patience with people on this matter as I see it as a very simple choice.

Well obviously I want to quit, thats why I have already given my husband all of my money and I dont have any smokes, I was just trying to get some helpful hints on how to handle it and keep it going that way. Thats why I said that I want a healthy pregnancy. It doesnt help though that my hubby refuses to quit with me. It is just as harmful, if not worse that he sits and smokes in front of me. I know the harmful effects of it and I cant take it when peeps smoke while they are pregnant, I think it is totally uncalled for. I just wanted some help and support along the way thats all.

Can you not ask your husband to smoke outside away from you and your unborn child?

Yeah, sorry, it's justs usually people are like I want to give up for the baby etc etc etc and then are like "i couldn't give up - it was so hard".

Keep busy, have something to play with (you'll miss having something in your hands), maybe some gum or low cal hard boiled sweets (incase you miss having stuff in your mouth).

I didn't. I made the choice to quit and put all thoughts of smoking from my mind. I didn't buy anymore, so there was no temptation and really the only time I missed it even a bit was after dinner.

I quit smoking and drinking (i was at alcoholic levels - upwards of 3 litres of lager and a couple bottles of wines and probably liquor most days) at the same time.

If you think to yourself it will be hard and think stuff like "i'd be having a ciggie now" then you will make it hard.
Turn it on it's head and think "wow another ciggie I did without".

Put the value of a pack of ciggarettes into a jar each time you would have bought some (you won't miss the money because you wouldn't have had it anyway), then you can buy yourself a treat with the money you saved.

Or make yourself a sticker chart and when you have gone without x number of packs, you allow yourself a treat.

Like kia said, put the money in a jar everyday and depending on the amount you spent a day you will build up a nice little bundle and then you can start a savings account for your baby or a college fund, or you can quite possibly furnish your baby's room (again depending on the amount of money you spent a day/week/month) if you spend....Lets say 3 dollars a pack 15 packs a month? (i dont' know how much they cost or how many packs a week you smoke....So I am guessing ) 45 dollars a month xs the next 7-8 months you could put away approx $315.00 - $360.00....That would give me a good reason to stop.....And by all means dont' give you money to your husband...Are you mad girl? (jk)

I think the other thing is that your husband needs to respect you and yalls child. And needs not to bring any smokes in the house as well because then you will be tempted to take his or sneak his. Quitting cold turkey is hard but it can be done as long as you set your mind to it. Think of it this way .. For every drag or puff that you take think of it as like a cloud around your babys face and he/she isnt able to breath because if he/she does they will be swallowing it..
