I have a lot of the same symptoms that many of you do...The metal taste, numbness, hard to explain weird feelings, etc.

Pretty much all day long every day I have my head feel like it is going wah wah wah...Kind of my brain feeling like it is pulsating very slowly. Like it is being squeezed and not squeezed by a vice. But it really doesn't hurt. I get a mild headache sometimes...Well more like daily now. However, I can ignore mild. Although, since I have a high pain tolerance, I don't know if it is a really bad headache until it is like a migraine. But at the same time it feels like my brain is numb.

Also, I feel like I am not close to noises around me...But I can hear them well.

My ears ring alot. I have read that others on this bb have said that there ears ring sometimes too.

Am I just weird?

The ringing in the ears that you're experiencing might be tinnitus. I know that it can be a side effect of tegretol. I don't know about the other aed's.

Hi my name is jamie,
did your siezures come from your right frontal lobe? Where did you have your surgery? I had surgery 6 2002 at u.C. Davis, mine came from my right frontal lobe. Still having a few gran-mals not as many as before, still having the auras around my menstral. I know when I don't get my sleep, get stressed, or don't eat correctly. I get messed up.
I've been reading your respones, you seem to know alot about this disease. My doc. Just took me off of keppra, my memory loss was short, so now he is increasing topamax to 400 a day from 300. Anyway i'll talk to later on the board. Jamie

My seizures are from the left temporal lobe. I had surgery in 1988 at the university of chicago. I also have an increase in seizures before and the first few days of my menstrual period. (these are also known as "catamenial seizures"). I notice an increase when I sleep poorly and when i'm overly stressed or upset as well.

I'm also on topamax. It has side effects that concern me (like irritability and problems with memory). I'd like to try monotherapy with tegretol. I'm not sure if my doctor would go for this. Besides, I just had a job interview yesterday. If I start a brand new job soon, I don't want to experimenting with my meds.

Keep in touch.

I Understand
I get all of those feeling one time or another. Especially the ringing in my ears. I have been through the horrible taste in your mouth, the deja vu, all of it I think. I have been known to get headaches (migraines) at least 3 times a weak. So in other words no way do I think you rae weird
