I was wondering if the myth about it being bad to stand near a microwave is bad for your baby, does anybody know if that is true?

I Try Not to
Hey, I am heather and i'm 15 weeks and 4 days preggy. I heard the rays from a microwave were safe. I know this may sound crazy, but since I was a little girl my mother did not want us to stand by a running microwave. Even now being preggy it is still hard to think that is safe although they said it was. Talk to your dr and see what they say to be on the safe side. Smile

I believe microwaves a fairly safe now days, but apparently some of the older models do in fact leak radiation a little bit. Whether or not it's enough to be harmful or not, I have no idea, but I think for a minimal fee you can call a service repair person or something and have your microwave tested to see if it is actually leaking any radiation.
