Normal etiquette (sp?) requires one to search and investigate a new forum before posting. However, i'm in a very desperate situation. A quick background. My mother, 54 years old, has ms, mg and asthma. She has faired very well with multiple sclorosis the last 15 years compared to most with this disease. She has battled about 10 cases of namonia (sp?) through this time. This time things are catching up with her with this last bout of namonia. The doctors have told us there is nothing more they can do. She has been intubated, then taken off and intubated again (current). One doctor has advised to just let the condition take it's course as he says her lungs are dead. She decided yesturday to keep trying and allowed herself to be intubated (sp?) again. She is breathing mostly on her own now, dispite the intubation, but still has some namonia/fluid occurring in her lungs. I have read that the lungs can recover to some extent. Obviously severe physical damamge cannot be recovered. They don't expect recovery at this point.
I ran across this bbc article on the net:

http://new s.Bbc.Co.Uk/2/hi/health/1298102.Stm

anyone know any more info. On this? Can anyone give me some resources for more knowledgeable doctors on this situation? Please understand this is a plea for any information someone else may have via the vast resource of the internet. I may have left some pertinant information out in this post so please don't hesitate to ask to elaborate. I am doing everything I can to find a possible hope/solution that our current doctors may not know about. We've all heard of it happening before, no doctor knows of every current treatment/solution.

Thankyou for any help offered!
Aaron
