Q: I'm Seriously Worried

For the past few days almost a week now I have been experiencing something strange to me. Something I have never experienced before. I have this constant feeling in my testicle region of a heavy feeling. The best way to describe it is a constant blue ball feeling or a feeling of lightly being kicked in the balls.

I haven't had sex since mid october and don't jack off to regular especially now that I have this feeling.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with anything but I did have a rash on my testicles which was a red inflamed rash that covered the entire testile area. I went to the er and was given a steriod cream. Soon the cream helped with the rash and although it returned again I used a gel instead of a cream which was from the same steriod medication and it cleared again. But after the rash I noticed a few scary things. First off my left testicle area looks more sloppy, it's very hard to explain but it doesn't look anywhere like it used to.

I also noticed that when I get excited or jack off I get these little rashes or flare ups that look like burns in different areas of my testicles.

I'm really worried, and i'm trying to make a medical appointment but the appointments are full for weeks. If anyone can help me or perhaps explain what could be causing this? I'm really worried.

There are many problems that have the same symptoms so i'd recommend you go to a doctor. If the office you go to usually is backed up for weeks, then find a new office. If it's a specialist office and that's why it's backed up, go to a general physician for the time being. It's good to research on the internet, but don't get into the habit of self diagnosing yourself. Use the internet to find treatment options and support and what others have used that helps, not to find out what you have.

Firstly, talk to your doctor about the steroids. Steroids should not be used for long periods, especially in the genital area. The genitals are sensitive and have thin skin which will absorb chemicals more readily.

Secondly, and i'm not diagnosing you, but a variococele can have the symptoms you describe of blue balls or being kicked in the balls. Sometimes the pain can also be present in the abdomen. A variococele is basically a varicose vein of the testicle. 10-15% men may have variococeles, but most do not have symptoms. It can cause infertility, but is easily reversed, so don't freak out. Sometimes, a variococele can be visibly noticed. The general treatment is surgery, however there are alternative methods using herbs that are often used for varicose veins. There is also a second western treatment that involves implanting a coil into the vein, but it's relatively unknown so be sure to seek out more info if your doctor doesn't know about it.

Again, i'm not diagnosing you, i'm not a doctor. Even a doctor would want more info and would want to see you. Plus, like you said you've had a rash and used steroids. I wouldn't know if they're connected or two separate problems. Make an appointment with a doctor that can see you soon and in the meantime, don't freak out and don't self diagnose yourself. If it worsens, go to an office that would allow walk ins, such as urgent care or er.

There's many things it could be, so don't think the worst. Infection, variococele, etc.

Well like you said, you are not a doctor but that does sound like something I may have. I did some research on what it actually is and that sounds pretty close. There is something above my left testicle that kinda sticks out. It's really hard to explain but I never notcied it before.

Is this something I should be worried about? I want to beable to have kids some day. Sad

Well, it should be something you're worried about enough to go to the doctor and get a proper diagnosing. But don't worry about what you might or might not have.

If it is a varicocele it's nothing to really worry about. It's not fatal, it doesn't spread and is quite common and usually doesn't present symptoms. I have one myself and discovered it after pain and having an ultrasound showing it to be caused by a varicocele. I asked what could be done about it and my doctor said surgery was the only treatment. I've done some research and found there is surgery, as well another procedure where a coil is implanted into the vein, called embolization.

However, with as little problems as it causes (and my preference to using natural treatments) I did not consult anyone about surgeries and did some research. I actually only recently researched more avenues as I was mostly symptom free for the last few months. However, after a little flare up I decided it was something that I should try to do something about.

What i've found is that natural treatments often include the same treatments as for varicose veins, after all that is what a varicocele is. Certain herbs such as butcher's broom, horse chestnut, bilberry, etc. Are often used for varicose veins. Cayenne, ginger, garlic, bioflavanoids, etc. Are also used because of their contribution to circulation and/or vessel health. If you google a little you'll find some combo recommendations and strengths and doses to look for. Horse chestnut shouldn't be taken in high doses.

I myself have purchased a formula specifically for varicose veins. It contains bb, hc and other ingredients. I've also added a bilbbery/bioflavanoid supplement. I only began taking this about 10 days ago and treatments can take 3-6 months or more, so I can't speak of it's effectiveness yet.

Secondly, since we're talking about a vein problem which is often due to poor circulation (as many varicose sufferers have poor circulation and sit or stand for long hours everyday) i've started some exercising that may help. I've not read any specific exercises, i'm just going with my logic that increasing lower body circulation may be beneficial.

Thirdly, there are supports you can buy to support the scrotum so that it does not hang. I haven't looked into this as i'm not in much pain very often. If I were, i'd look into it, because on days I have had pain I preferred my scrotum supported.

Fourthly, in my search I found someone that spoke of applying hamamelis topically (he also mentioned the support and herbs). I've also read about using some of the herbs i've mentioned above topically for varicose veins. If you go to a health store you might find creams used for varicose veins. I have, and it contains the herbs i've mentioned as well as hamemelis and other ingredients. I've purchased it and am using it on the vein area as well as some varicose veins I have in my groin area. Should I be doing this? I don't know. It's safe for varicose vein use, but the genitals are thins and readily absorb more than the legs do. I just think if I asked a doc, he'd say he didn't know (because, really, they're not everything in medical school) or he'd say not to just to be on the safe side. For now I think i'll continue to use it sparingly on my scrotal area, and continue to use it on the varicose veins until I run out. And hopefully the herbs i'm ingesting will improve my circulation and help any varicose veins and varicoceles.

Lastly, i'd guess try to avoid sitting or standing for long periods. I'm using a pillow to sit on in addition to my couch cushioning. I have one of those space foam type pillows, so I figured, why not.

Anyway, go to your doctor and find out what is for sure. And if it is, do some reasearch and apply some of what i've mentioned and hopefully within 6 months we'll be varicocele free or lessened at least.

Edit: there was a product I found in my searches that was specifically for varicoceles. It contained hamamelis and some of the herbs mentioned. However, it was homeopathic which is not one of the natural medicines i'm more informed about. They're safe, but they usually are about diluting things and i'm not sure how effective that is. They sold 3 varicocele products all containing different or stronger combinations. They were called something like varicocele relief, ultra varicocele something, and super varicocele something.

Well i'm getting two different opionions. I took a ultrasound at the er and one at the on base clinic. (in in the airforce) of course the on base clinic takes forever to get results and they are very shady. So i'm happy I atleast got the ultrasound done at the er. They also took a urine test. The urine test came out clean.

As for the ultrasound what the doct thinks it is, is epididymitis. Is he right? I hope so, he said the ultrasound shows some sort of cyst in private regions.. He gave me diclofenac potassium and cipro. Hopefully this works. I'm not to knowledgable with epididymitis but hope its not bad.

As I understand it, epididymitis is just an infection of the epididymis. What the cyst is, I wouldn't know.

If it's an infection, take what your doc gives you and you can safely add some alternative infection fighters/immune boosters. Garlic, oregano oil, colloidal silver, zinc, vit-c, are some. You could go to a health store and ask them. You don't really need them if your doc gave you antibiotics, but I like to kick infections out just I don't have an linger.

Then, more importantly, after you're done with the round of antibiotics you have to replenish your probiotics. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that reside in your colon. They're used for digestion, assimilation, immune system and keeping bad bacteria in check. If you don't replenish them, you're more likely to get more infections, or candida. You can eat plain yogurt for a few weeks and/or buy a probiotic supplement from a health store. If you go with a supplement, find one that is enteric coated which allows the bacteria to make it past the stomach acids.

Well it's been a few days and I still have the same pain, now that i'm wearing underwear that seems to help with the discomfort slightly. Im waiting for another result from the ultrasound I took at my on base clinic. So if they say the same as the er then I guess I won't be as worried but i'm still wondering what their results will tell them.

I'm taking meds right now but not sure how long it takes to clear up of even if it's the right stuff for the job. I'm not going to lie sometimes I am weary of doctors because I don't really think they really know for sure what's going on and just say things to comfort people. But that's just what I think i'm sure I am wrong.

Just having this constant annoying pain makes me always think the worse. I mean could a cyst do this much damage? If i'm having inflamation shouldn't I beable to see it from the outside? It doesn't look inflamed to me, quite the opposite I have so much more loose skin then I remember having before this all started.

Im Feeling Discomfort In My Balls 2.
Im feeling something similar in my scrotum area as well. Just the other day I was lifting some weights on a incline bench press and I noticed I was starting to have this heavy discomfort feeling inside my testicles somewhere after I got done working out. I also have this nausea feeling as well, feeling like its coming from my abdomen. Very hard to pin point the area. Theres no bulges, lumps, or anything unusual I notice so far in my groin or balls area. I was wondering what type of ultrasound did you get and where did they place it. If my testicle area still feels uncomfortable 2morrow im going to see my doctor.

Well for both ultra sounds they just did in in the testicle area, all along and around the testicles below the penis.

I'm remember having some nausea too when I was having the testicle pain. I guess varicoceles can do that, unless it was something else. Kind of makes sense since getting kicked in the balls can have a similar effect, as well as testicular torsion. Don't go thinking you have testicular torsion though, because it's bad enough that you'd have been in the er from severe pain.

More Help
A little update. The pain is still there but as bad in the testicle area. I have started wearning those underwear things that look like boxer shorts. They have helped a little. But now for some reason the pain seems to have went lower. Like kind of hard to explain exactly where but it feels like in my inner thigh area and area next to scrotom like between the legs and thighs right below the testies. The only way I can describe it is kind of like a dead leg feeling in my upper thigh/testicle area. A feeling like I just did a million lunges and woke up the next day with that discomfort.

I have had two ultra sounds done. One showed nothing and the other really didn't show much my doctor said but maybe a very beginning stages of epiditmytis (spelling) I took 2 different pills one for the pain and inflammation and an antibotic which I took for two weeks and i'm done.

Does anyone have this feeling or know what it could be?

Many, many thanks.

Other things i've noticed are that in my left testicle I guess the veins or tubes above the testicle I could never see them before or at least never noticed them. But now I can see then very easily when my skin is loose. Also, when I masterbate or get excited my testies get red and sometimes get spots that look like what dry skins does when it tears. Even though my testicles are not dry.

Again all this has been going on for about a month now. I have had tons of blood tests, urine tests and ultra sounds plus personaly examinations and they haven't found anything.

I've had the pain in my thigh (and down to my calf before) too, but couldn't say if it's the same as yours. I also had it in my ass, basically right at the top of the femur. When I mentioned that pain, my doctor suggested a possibility of a pinched nerve I think.

If it's epididymitis and you've had antiobiotics and still have pain, you should probably go on another round. Also, be sure to replenish your probiotics afterwards by taking a supplement, eating plain yogurt/kefir. You could also take something like colloidal silver, garlic, oregano oil to help kill the infection. Antioxidants are good for the inflammation.

Have you talked to your doctor about the veins and suggested varicose veins?

Yes I asked him about it and I guess the tests really didn''t show much on that. They checked me for like the twisted veins or something like that and checked on abunch of things. As for supplements the past week or so I started taking a bunch of good stuff.

Green tea and grapefruit supplments. Apple cidar vineager, another thing I forget the name, been taking 10-20 mg of zinc the past 3-4 days which I only will take for 7 days in a row. I been eating very good with the veggies and fruits. I even sometimes juice things like carrots and cucumbers or juice oranges and apples with some honey mixed in. I also been taking an omega 3 supplement once a day.

I just started adding mixed spices into my meals when I can.

So as far as all that I should be good to go.

I'm just alarmed because the pain seems to have gone further south. I mean I still feel it like before but not as bad and seems to have perhaps spread?

I don't mind going back to the doctors but it's obvious that I go so much and all the tests keep coming back normal.

I know, it's frustrating when doctors can't seem to pinpoint a problem. I prefer alternative treatments, but I still need to know what to treat. Luckily, many problems are treated by practicing overall healthy habits. The level you need to practice may be high and take a long time before you see results.

Hope you find out what's wrong so you can start finding a remedy.

Edit: not sure what kind you're using, but apple cider vinegar from the grocery store won't do much. You need an unfiltered variety. Just thought i'd mention it, even though you're probably using a healthy variety.

Thank you for your input, like I said the pain/discomfort is a little different now. It's kind of like a constant feeling that you get when you do a bunch of lunges the day after, or like a dead leg feeling around the upper thighs, scrotum area. It's very hard to describe but it's been like this for a few days and i'm again getting worried.

I made an appointment for the 8th but sometimes I worry if the doctor thinks I am crazy.

Well, keep trying to find the problem. I usually freak out when I have a problem too and as soon as I find the problem even without it being solved I feel better just knowing, so I understand your worry. The good news though is that they are ruling things out. So even if you don't know what it is, you know it's not cancer or other problems that they'd easily identify. So don't let your worries go there.

If you still can't find help, talk to an alternative medicine doctor. The whole body is connected and works together. A pain in the foot doesn't mean it's a foot problem, it could be liver or heart. So treating the whole body and total health is always beneficial. You might even find they recommend a cleanse and diet change. Cleansing the liver is probably very beneficial as that can often help testicular problems. A true cleanse will include some diet changes too. May I advise that if you do a cleanse do the entire body in the correct order (a naturopath can help, or get a book), and also if the liver cleanse involves removal of stones do so slowly. Meaning, liver cleanses often involve a flush to rid the liver and gallbladder of stones. It usually involves softening of the stones for a week, a clean diet for the week and day, limited food and no fat on the day of cleanse, an enema (with epsom salt or fleet's or anything to flush the colon), and then drinking a juice/oil mixture to get the liver and gallbladder to flush its stones and toxins. I say do so slowly because you don't want to do a liver flush until you've cleaned it with diet for at least a few months or more. This way your liver will already begin to naturally clean itself because your diet is not as dirty (american diet, fast food, fats, hydrogenated oils) and is actually cleansing. So you'll be ready to cleanse and your stones will be fewer and softer already. You'll do a softening of stones beforehand as well. You'll have to find a book or talk to an alternative medicine doctor to learn everything you need to do.
