How does an elisa test kit combined with p24 antigens work during there respective window peroid and how accurate they are? What if someone had three test of hiv with such a kit for three times after 3 wks' 3 months and 6 months of unprotected sex and all three showing a negative result? Should I do the tests again?

A duo test is a p24 w/elisa test in one. From one-three weeks, your body produces antigens if you are infected and the p24 can distinguish them. After the third week there not enough antigens for the p24 to pick up on the test. The body then starts to make antibodies and that is where the elisa part of the test comes in. In apx. 6 weeks after infection, there are usually enough antibodies for the elisa test to pick up.
