1st Doctors Appointment Monday!!! Posted: 01-05-07 17:42pm


I am now officially 14 weeks along and on monday I get to go to my first doctors visit!!...I am so excited!! Will they be able to see anything yet???

Yup, if you have a cooperative baby you should get a good viewing on u/s and the heart beat for sure. Remember to hold your wee so you have a full bladder for the u/s - a full bladder pushes the uterus up and improves the u/s apparently drink a juice or soda just before you go in to try and wake baby up a bit too.

It's your first doc appt at 14 weeks??? Did you find out late that you were preggo??? Hearing the heartbeat is awesome. Am I the only one they made empty her bladder before all my u/s's??

Did they say you drank too much .Jess? I was told that once too, and I was pissed!!!!

Nope jess. I was told yo drink water, then when I got there they told me to empty it. Good luck hun

Tazzy and jess - did they give you a trans vaginal u/s?? If it is abdominal they usually want a full bladder but this occludes the view on a tv scan and so they make you empty it.

When I had the 2 (at 5 and 9 weeks) vag ones I had to have an empty bladder. For my 12 week one I had to drink some water and for my 19 and 32 week ones they told me to have an empty my bladder.
