Not sure if this relates to cardiac issues, I suppose it could?? I am a 36 year old male, 5'10, 210, so definitely overweight.
My blood pressure (until recently) has always been good, usually 120/85 or 120/75. However, I went to the doctor last week and noticed that it was 95/60, very unusual. The doctor didn't seem concerned but i'm thinking this isn't right.
I purchased one of those blood pressure monitors (the arm band, not the wrist) at walgreens early this week and i've noticed that it continues to stay quite low, usually 100/70, sometimes lower. I realize in a person who is a regular exerciser and is in good shape, this would be ideal but I am definitely not that person! I'm wondering what could cause something like this.
I went to a cardiologist last year, because of some chest pain and had a nuclear stress test with a nuclean scan, both were normal with the exception of a small defect involving the mid-anterior wall that spares the septum and the apex, or so I read. The doctor later ascertained that this was more likely due to technical factors and when he actually showed me the scan in my follow up, the defect was gone??
I don't know if any of that is related, or if it means anything when it comes to hypotension. Any thoughts on what could cause this would be appreciated. I've had some lightheadedness but this has been going on (off and on) for a while now, long before my bp went way down.
Thanks in advance!
