Quick Question
Posted: 01-04-07 17:06pm

So we started cereal today. Aly was cranky and hungry, so I breastfed her a little bit to take the edge off her hunger, and also so that I could pump some milk. (for some reason I have trouble pumping - my breasts are pump-shy, I guess? Aly has to get the milk flowing before it really comes out.)

anyway, I mixed her cereal with my milk like the directions said - 1 tablespoon of cereal, 4 tablespoons of milk - so it was pretty much just thick milk. I put her in her bumbo and tried to feed her. She seemed more interested in chewing on the spoon than actually eating, and most of the food came right back out again.

My question: how do I know if she got enough down? She seems happy now, and .I'm pretty sure she'd be fussy if she were still hungry, but it seems like she didn't keep much of the cereal in her mouth. Is there a way you can tell? Neutral

No there really isnt a way to tell. Atleast I never could. The doctor always told me as long as the baby is content then everything is fine. They will always let you know if they are still hungry or didnt get enough, and you can always substitute what she didnt get with milk..
