Q: Too Much Saliva

Maybe this isnt the right place for this post but....Lately on and off I have been producing too much saliva and it makes me nautious. I could just keep on spitting. I'm not drooling or anything, the only thing that seems to help is brushing my teeth or using mouthwash or chewing gum. I recently went in for a swollen chee (by my ear) and the doc said it is parotitis. Any help?
