Q: Late Period+ Only 1 Day of Scant Amt. Blood + Neg Hpt

Can anyone give me advise? Ttc - i'm one day late but had scant amt. Of red blood. I took a hpt which came out negative. Had sex 2nd week of december. Is it too early to have levels of hcg show to be positive on hpt?
