Q: Possible Ectopic Pregnancy?

Hello, i'm angel.
I'm about 7 weeks pregnant and engaged to the father of my child.

I've been doing extensive research on pregnancy in general, since I have not yet told my mother that i've gotten pregnant. I'm waiting for the right time to tell her, since she hasn't been too happy with me lately already. So i'd rather not make her any more furious than she already is.

Anyways, over the past week or so, i've been having peculiar symptoms:
migrain headaches
dizziness/faint
back aches (which I know are common)
sharp abdominal pains on the lower left section
upper center abdominal pains
insomnia

but out of those five, it's the abdomen pains that worry me. My research has told me that although women who experience ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy outside of the uterus, usually taken place in the fallopian tubes) do not always have symptoms, those that do tend to have a kind of sharp, uncomfortable pain on the lower part of the abdomen, usually towards one side. It also takes place during the first trimester of the pregnancy. And nothing else I have come up fits that description.

My question is:
even though I do not have the certain history or recent surgeries that are usually required to have a higher risk of having an ectopic pregnancy, is it possible that I could be having an ectopic pregnancy? Or is there another possible explanation? And does me being under 18 effect the chance percentage at all?

If you suspect ectopic pregnancy you need to talk to you doctor asap. I had similar sypmtoms with my first pregnancy and I went to a&e where they did a scan to make sure the pregnancy was in the right place

I agree go see your doctor, anything is possiable. My friend who has had one normal pregnancy and no surgerys recently had a eptopic pregnancy. Her pain was sever and she had to go to the emergency room. They can do a number of tests but the easiest is a scan, if it continues call your obgyn and get her opinion my guess is if you are this far along (my friend was only 5 weeks and the baby was so big she was in pain!!) your ok for now so just go get it checked out. But then again, i'm not a doctor

Congratulations! You are now officially a mom! You will be panicking about keeping your baby safe every single minute from now until the minute you die.

Now, slowly, back away from the internet. You'll just make it worse.

Odds are you are fine. You know (from all of your research), that abdominal cramping is part of pregnancy. Of course, I do know how easy it is to go from having normal abdominal cramps, to having abdominal cramps in the exact same place that I read abdominal cramps have to be in order to be ectopic pregnancy/toxiplasmoses/molar/miscarriage/ listeriosis/otherthing that will kill myself or my child". If you are truly terrified, go see your doctor, but it is more than likely that there is not a single thing wrong.

Not one of those symptoms is abnormal. They are very common among women in the first trimester. Stop worrying so much and enjoy your pregnancy!

Now, back away from the internet.

Stay away from the book .What .To .Expect .When .You're .Expecting. I threw it away. You're abdominal pain is probably due to constipation which is very common in early pregnancy.
