I am undergoing the dyneses back surgery on tuesday jan 9th. I am wondering how many people have had this and what was your results? I have had two previous surgeries on my back. I had one l5-s1 lamanectomy and a l4-l5,l5-s1 microdiscectomy. The later was done in march of 06. I have had no improvement and still have the lower leg pain. I have gone through all of the pain management and pt with no improvement. I would like to talk with anyone who has had this surgery and what kind of improvements or unimprovements that you have had.

Thanks

microdiscectomy
Hi William,

Sorry to hear you are going through so much pain, I can certainly relate. I had a microdiscectomy on 5/05/08 I'm doing okay as far as no muscle spams, but the leg pain is still there. Stabbing, burning, electric shooting, pins and needles you probably know all about that right? I'm disappointed that I'm still having pain, it's only been two months so I'm hoping things will get better.

The neuro surgeon said that I should have already seen improvement if I was going to, so I guess that means from her stand point it's not going to get any better.

I've done PT, epidural injection, didn't work, and I had a steroid shot this past week which I can't tell it did anything either. And as far as pain pills I don't want to take them everyday, but when I do all they do for me is make me tired, doesn't do alot for pain.

I had a MRI three weeks ago, and the surgeon said she didn't see the nerve being compressed so why the leg/calf/foot pain????? the back can be complicated as you know. I wish you the very best.

Many Blessings,
