I started crying at 6 weeks when I had to return to work (rtw) in 2 weeks. I still cry after the weekend rtw. Lol I am horrible. I had the worst feeling in my belly for like 2 weeks straight at leaving my baby and rtw and my baby is only 4 floors below me. Tell me I am weird I don't care......I hate leaving her now....She isnt' feeling too good right now and she is with my sister because she come with a fever. I miss her so badly....So dont' think it's easy rtw at all....It's horrible....But some of us dont' have a choice.

I still think it's crazy that you guys get 6 weeks. We get a whole yr paid at 80-90% of your salary and my company pays you the diff too for the yr.

It's hard but you'll be fine and you'll enjoy your time with her that much more.

I think after a year is a lot easier than after six weeks or even twelve. After a year i'd probably be ready to go back (hmmm...Maybe not Confused ) but I was sooooo not ready after 6 weeks.

Actually we are able to get 12 weeks, non-paid due to the family medical leave act. Isn't much better, huh? I work for a school district and am able to get 12 weeks. I have noticed, though, that most teachers do take 6 weeks off.

Lil' blaze! You get a whole year paid off??? How does one not just keep getting pregnant?? Do people abuse the system or are there limits? That is so nice!

I know I couldn't do it!

yup, it use to be 6 months but they changed it to a yr and they're thinking of changing it to 18 months! People don't really abuse the system because you have to have put in a certain number of hours to get it. It's like .U.I, but they're mat benefits so it's more and longer. Or you can split it with your hubby and he can take parental leave for up to 35 weeks. Mat leave is 15 weeks and then you decide who will take the parental. Like diamondz, her hubby is the one on parental and she went back to work.

Well, I cannot imagine what it would be like to go back to work after the baby and not be able to take them. I am so fortunate that I am a nanny and where I work I have been told that I can bring the baby with me. I have worked for them now for 9 years off and on, and they have no problems with me taking the baby. In fact it was them that told me I could. So I feel for you ladies who have to go back to work and are not allowed to take your kids. Good luck with it and I hope that it doesnt turn out to be too hard.

Take care.

Mary

Oh canada. I like dgoing back to work. But I didn't work through my whole pregnancy. I could never be a sahm. There's less responsibility at work. It was like taking a little break. I mseed the hell out of her, but I was glad to be back.

Hi ladylee70:

your welcome. It is definitly an option that I am going to be taking them up on. It will certainly be a huge load off my shoulders to not have to find a good sitter and worry about whats going on when I am at work. If anyone ever needs to talk, I am usually not too far. I only work part time and then I suspect that I will be off work by june as I am due the end of june first weeks of july. I want to have a little down time before the baby is born thats for sure.

Again, take care ladies, I am sure that things will turn out fine, and my wish for you is that you have a smooth transition back to work.

My thoughts are with you all,

mary
