Hello everyone,
I am trying to figure out if these could be possible early pregnancy symptoms- or something else. First of all, it's unlikely that I am pregnant because I am on birth control (i am using nuvaring, and I did put it in 1 day late this cycle- don't know if that makes a huge difference). However, I have been having really sore breasts and I feel like I am going to throw up almost every night for the last 2 weeks or so. I am due to start my period today or tomorrow (january 2nd or 3rd) . I don't know what is wrong with me. Any suggestions?

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't put too much faith into the nuvaring. Last year I miscarried not once but twice w/in 4 months while faithfully on the nuva ring. Pathology tests verified that they were indeed m/c. It just didn't work for me but works great for other women. Good luck, I hope all works out for you.

The hormones in nuva ring and the pill work by tricking the body into thinking it is pregnant. So it is not surprising to get pregnancy type symptoms while on it. On ovcon35, I had huge water weight gain of 20 lb. In 1 month, a hard, bulgy area over my uterus, weird food cravings, a feeling all the cells of my body were constantly pushing outward, extreme moodiness and anxiety, nausea, and bigger boobs. I was not pregnant. It was just the hormones in the pill. If the side effects don't go away after 3 months on it, you should talk to your doctor about switching to the pill or just start using an alternative form of birth control, like condoms.
