Development of primary and secondary
sexual characteristics of any human is
genetically conditioned. During puberty,
the pituitary gland in males produces the
hormones FSH and LH. FSH and LH stimulate
the testicles to produce spermatozoids and
the hormone testosterone. Testosterone is
the hormone that stimulates development of
the secondary sexual characteristics in
men (deeper voice, hair growth, stronger
musculature, body’s height increase…).
Testosterone production does not depend
upon body mass. The production of
testosterone, rather, depends upon
hormonal stimulation from the pituitary
gland and from the testicles. You
mustn’t take any hormones without
consulting an endocrinologist first.
