Q: Is This Product Necessary?

Do I need a sitting up tub? Ive been bathing trace in his infant tub and now he is getting too big for it. The thing is, I dont think spending $25 on a plastic circle is worth it. Cant I just stick him in our bathtub-its not like I would leave him alone in there. He is perfectly capable of sitting up, so I dont see why people use these things?

I got a circle thing from my sil and used it once, I couldn't wash trey properly in it. And as he was sitting up on his own by 3 1/2 months I had no probs bathing him in the big tub. So in my opinion, ya those rings are a waste of $$.

If the bottom of the tub doesn't have any anti-slip thing then i'd use a seat. If you have something that will keep his little butt from sliding out from under him he'd probably be fine.

Never had one.
Managed not to drown either of my kids. (thus far)
it might make things easier, but it's certainly not nessesary.

I always found the very best place to bathe my kids as babies was the kitchen sink.
We have kinda old fashioned square deep sinks, too small for baby to slip down into a horizontal position, but nice and deep.
Also added bonus of being at a confortable height, and having plenty of surrounding bench-space for all the stuff, and to lie babba on and dress them afterwards.
No carrying water too and fro and messing about.
I had a baby bath on a stand thing, but it was awkward to move, especially with water in it, and awkward to fill - it did have a handy tube thing to let the water out, but that was only useful if you had it set up near a drain.
The baby bath was long enough when they were very small, but pretty shallow.
I hardly ever used it with my first, and only once with my second.

I love the chair because chu thinks he's a fish and tries to explore the water world at bath time. It gives me more control and keeps him safe! But to each their own. My mum bathed us in the tub or the sink when we babies. She said a folded towel under the bum (to keep us from slipping) was her only necessary thing.

I think he would be okay in the tub, as long as you are really careful. They get pretty damn slippery.

I would use the sink until he gets too big for it and then move on to the tub,or you could just use the tub like everyone else said but in the sink you'll have more control over him I think.

Never used it, like jess said its a waste of cash. Honestly if he can sit up on his own just let him have fun in the big bath~!

I must say, .Oni's been in her big girl tub since she was 3 months. It's great!!!

Without it you'd have to constantly hold his back, as he could get excited and thrash himself backwards. A concussion isn't worth not spending 20 dollars.

Buuut, this is just my opinion, and .Oni will be graduating from hers in a few short weeks. My friend is having a baba and will need it soon!

It's all up to you though. Either decision is a good decision!
