New years eve I had some kind of attack. I had a very bad attack. I was doubled over in pain with the pain being on my left side, shortly after the pain started I began vomiting. After being sick the first time the pain seemed to ease up but then came back with a vengence and vomiting persisted. This lasted a few hours. Child birth was easier than this pain. I had thought maybe it was my gallbladder but everything I have read says that pain from a gallbladder attack is either in the stomach or on the right. I have spoken to a friend who had her gallbladder removed and she said that the pain can revert to the left side. Can anyone tell me if they have ever had this occur? I really never want to go through that pain again. Please help

I Know What You Mean
I have recently had my gallbladder tested for functionality and found out that it is working at 11%...Ya I know crazy. I have pains all the time and it is definetly on my right side and into my stomach. It started about 3 months ago as servere heartburn and moved to pains in my right side. I agree that the pains are servere...I have not been through child birth yet but I tell my friends that it is like cramps times 100!!! Go so a doctor, that is your best bet. You know your body and know weather this pain is just pain or something major. I hate to go to the doc's but I knew that the pain I was having was something major...And to think the doc said it was just heartburn and gave me some meds...Ha...Anyways...Go see a doc this pain is not fun plus I cant keep food down if I eat more than 2 cups off food at one time, and its worse at night. Ok time for me to stop rambling...You prob want to get a peppida (sp?) scan...Its not invasive and tells docs what they need to know. I see the surgeon tomorrow, so we shall see. Good luck!

I have had my gallbladder and the pain was on the right side and happened within a few hours of eating.

I had my gallbladder removed in june, after many months of being in pain. My pain did radiate from right to left, and mainly happened after eating something I shouldn't have.

I had an ultrasound which revealed stones, and laprascopic surgery was set.

I no longer have any issues, thankfully.

Best of luck to you,

lori
