1. No

2. Because the "bubbles" aren't really anything to begin with, and you don't wash yourself with them, so really all your exposing your vagina to is the water, which won't affect anything during a pap test.

3. No your results will come back not normal if there supposed to come back not normal, this will have absolutely nothing to do with your bubble bath

4. Your results will come back not normal if there supposed to come back not normal, this will have absolutely nothing to do with your bubble bath.

5. I have not taken a bath before going to get one, but I have taken a shower, and washed myself thoroughly down there... Which is the same thing.

6. Pap tests only take about 2 minutes. The best thing you can do is to just relax so as your muscles aren't tense. If your tense your muscles will too, and make it that much more painful for you. Also make sure your doctor uses enough lube when the speculum (i think thats what its called) gets inserted.

7. I just tell myself that it will be over with soon, and getting this done is beneficial to my health because it can tell me of anything that might be wrong before the problem gets too far.

8. If something is going to be wrong the doctor will (hopefully) be able to tell. There will be nothing you can do to prevent the inevitable.

what do u mean that u have washed myself thoroughly down there???

Also how is it the same thing as taking a bubble bath???

Just wondering sorry Sad

on some other health board that I was on people were saying that it is a bad idea to have a bubble bath before going to get a pap smear.

But I know that I have before because I don't like showers & I don't like regular baths.

They said that the bubble bath soap can get up u & can change your ph hormones levels or ph something like that so it can make the results come back not normal.
Isn't that really weird what they said???

If the results come back not normal than why isn't it because of my bubble bath???

not really.
Douching is bad. This can affect theph levels inside you and also can wash away or obscure the cells in the cervix.

You also do not want to have sex just before your pap as they want to get a sample of cervix cells and not sperm/semen cells.

(2.)why or why not???
because you are not going to push the bubbles up inside yourself (are you?)

(3.) will it make the results come back not normal???
no, it won't turn a normal result into an abnormal one.

(4.) why or why not???

it will not change the shape/size/quality of the cells that make up your cervix.

(5.)has anyone took a bubble bath before going to get one done before???
i expect lots of people have.

take some tylenol/papracetamol before hand and advise the doctor or nurse that you have had a previous painful pap.
Ask them to be sure to use lots of lube.
The more you tense, the more chance of it hurting.
Try some relaxation breathing or take a friend with you to hold your hand.

(7.) what does everyone do to get through them???
most people only find them a discomfort and not actually painful.

eat a halthy balanced diet, and take good care of yourself.
This won't guarantee that you never have anything wrong, but it will help.
