According to your description of the hemorrhoids (the hemorrhoids appear even when you are not experiencing a bowel movement), you could be experiencing hemorrhoids stage IV. Hemorrhoids can be either primary (with an unknown etiology, or cause) or secondary (due to another condition such as pregnancy, or an illness like colon cancer). In most of cases, hemorrhoids is classified as a primary condition. Primary hemorrhoids are due to an inborn weakness of the rectal veins’ wall. Symptoms of hemorrhoids manifest as bleeding (rectorrhagia), infection (itching, pain) or thrombosis (pain). The types of symptoms usually occur when the stools are hard.
Hemorrhoids can be diagnosed with a rectal manual examination. A colonoscopy should be also be performed when diagnosing hemorrhoids to exclude secondary hemorrhoids due to colon cancer.
Treatment of hemorrhoids can be complex and includes improving localized hygiene, a dietary regime (a lot of fruits and vegetables to create a softer stool), hemorrhoids’ sclerotisation, under binding, and surgery.
You can consult an internist or surgeon for proper treatment.
