Q: Insomnia

Hi,

i've been having a problem lately with insomnia. I wake up about 3 hours after going to sleep with my heart pounding and have a really difficult time getting back to sleep. Sometimes I have a protein snack and this seems to help but for the rest of the night I sleep very lightly. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
dj

A long time ago I did. What is your current diet? If you said it before, just give me a link, but i'd like to know if anything's changed. How long has this problem been going on? What do you typically eat before going to bed and how long before going to bed?

Hi again,

i've been following your diet for the most part. I do feel like i've improved quite a bit. About 1/2 to 1 hour before bed I eat some almonds or a boiled egg but a few hours later I wake up with what feels like low blood sugar. By morning i'm feeling better and my symptoms are mostly stable during the day.

Seems like it may just be a passing phase. Maybe try adding some more protein to see what that does or some vegetables like green beans or broccoli.
