Q: Pregnancy And On the Pill

Just a quick question. What happens if you accidentally get pregnant and dont know and take the till? Would it cause miscarriage?

For the last 2 months I havent taken the pill properly. I keep forgetting to take it and have to let a period come because I will start to bleed when I forget. This month I started taking it about 4 days after my period stopped. I've never had nausea with the pill before but I have it now for the last 5 days.

I use to take the pills for about 6 years then stopped for 2 years, I restarted 2 months ago.

Any advice welcome x

You should find a method of birth control you can use consistently. Like the patch or a shot. Or a barrier method you only need to think about when you are about to have sex. It sounds like taking the pill hasn't become a habit.

A good way to make it a habit is to keep the pills by your toothbrush or on your nightstand, that way you'll remember to take them every day when you brush your teeth or go to bed, get your cup of coffee, whatever.

Good luck.

So if I was pregnant, would the pill harm the baby?

No.. It would not.

Obviously if you are taking the pill then you wish to not have a baby...

Your main concern should be getting yoruself a method of birth control that you can remember to take daily.

I dont mind having a baby, I am taking the pill because my boyfriend wants me to. So if I was pregnant and I stopped taking the pill now (microgynon 30) would I bleed like I normally do?
The reason I am having doubts is because I feel sick everyday. I've been pregnant before so I know how it feels like. I dont remember ever feeling sickness with the pill before.

Obviously your b/f does not want a baby if he wants you to use the pill..

You would most likely not be pregnant, and you would be risking preganncy later by stopping the pill.

Morning sickness does not usually occur until 4-6 weeks of pregnancy.. If you are pregnant enough for morning sicknes, then you are pregannt enough to take test.

You should consider that if a man wants to use the pill, he does not want children 'now'. He could beocme upset and leave because of an unplanned pregnancy.

Anything is posssible, if you are having constant morning sickness, your in time to take a pregnancy test. You need to find a better form of birth control. Please stay away from the shot. Its horrible and you'll bleed for weeks straight. I am very paranoid about forgetting my pill. I take mine at 7pm, after I eat dinner so I wont get sick. My stomach is very sensitive.Do you have a cell phone? I have my alarm set on my phone daily at 6:55 so I have 5 minutes to take my pill. I also use a very loud and annoying tone for the alarm...Keep that in mind

Agree with posts above, the best way to dispel your doubts is to take the test, if you haven’t taken it so far.

As for the use of microgynon 30 during pregnancy, I would like to quote this: http://www.Medsafe.Govt.Nz/profs/datasheet /m/microgynon30tab.Htm

"the administration of microgynon 30 is contraindicated during pregnancy. If pregnancy occurs during treatment with microgynon 30, further intake should be stopped."

"accumulated evidence reports that inadvertent exposure to these agents in early pregnancy has not been associated with an increased risk of birth defects."
