Pregnant???some Help Please
Posted: 12-29-06 23:55pm

So my husband and I havent really been trying to concieve. We just havent been using protection and our thoughts on it are "if we get prego then we get prego" its been almost 2 years now that we havent been using any kind of protection and still no pregnanct. So, im getting a little worried. My periods arent very regular.
So...To my point. I am having very tender swolen breasts. How can I tell if its from pregnancy or maybe me just about to start my period. Im so tired of buying tests and they come out negative. Can someone please help me to understand??

Tender breast is only one symptom and that is very difficult to pin point that on prenancy or getting ready to start. How far from a possible missed cycle are you? You say your eregular how eregular are you?

Is it possible that you aren't bding during your fertile time of the month? If you have an irregular cycle and you aren't trying to track ovulation, it might be difficult to keep track of whether you are bding right before ovulation. I recommend trying to figure out when you ovulate (either with bbt or opk). I find opk to be pretty easy. Your af is then expected to come two weeks after your o date. If your af is late, then you can test.

As for your current issue, how long has it been since your last af? Are you toward the short side of your range or the long side of your range? Keep track of your symptoms, but there really isn't a great way to tell if you are pregnant without taking a test. If you are tired of getting the bfn's, then try to figure out when you o so you have a better idea of when you are late. Figuring out when you o has the added benefit of helping you make sure you bd during your fertile time.

It sounds like you are mentally beyond the "see what happens" stage now, so taking it one step further might be a relief.

Hi lauren!!

I agree with shorty - she pretty much said it all!!!! Wink
you need to decide if you just want to "wait it out longer,, and see what happens", or if you want to try and conceive. If so, then you need to start doing things to determine your ovulation date (you can still do this with irregular periods......I did!) each month and start bd'ing with your partner about 5 days before you ovulate, including your o day and the day after!!!! Like the girls said, your period usually comes 2 weeks after your o date. Once you get closer to your af date, if you start to experience "symptoms", keep track of them so you can monitor for further months, how you usually feel or what symptoms you get before af comes. This way you'll know when something is just "not right". Tender and or swollen breasts can occur right before you ovulate, before your af, or once you are pregnant........Everyone is different, and you need to track your own body and how it feels / reacts around o and af date! It can be very useful for you!!!!

Good luck! Wink
