Moving to dallas, my husband is us citizen but understands less about health insurance than I do. It would be greatly appreciated if some one could clarify some q's I have. Thanks
here goes....
Q1 deductibles what exactly is this? Is it an out of pocket exspence paid if admitted into hospital, if so why does it vary from $250 to $15000 or more sometimes???? I dont know about you but I cnat afford $15000 if I had to go to hospital
q2 short term cover. Looking to have short term cover till my husband gets a job with medical & dental benefits and for those to kick in, however!!!! In the mean time he has va medical benefits he can access, and thought it would be more affordable for us if the kids & I got a short term policy. I found some online brochures that you have to be at least a us resident for 6 months ( not all have this mentioned), I will officially have my us residency on the 9th jan 07 and will travel to us soon after, is the 6 months standard across the board or are there some who will allow immediate coverage????
Q3 pre existing illness/condition both my children are on the austism spectrum, is this considered pre- existing or "child developmental delays"
q4 child developmental delays- it seems to be common practise to be very vague with this area on if it "may" or "may not" be covered. Are there any ins. Co's that do yes cover this child developmental delays at all?
