Okay I have had it!!!

For the past month (or maybe longer) everytime I try to change traces diaper he tries to get away.

And, everytime he has a poopy diaper, he squirms and wiggles and turns onto his stomach, no matter what I do he will not stay! He gets caca everywhere! On the changing table, on his stomach, his clothes, down his legs, on his socks, on my hands, down my arms!!!! I cannot handle this anymore! Its nasty, and I dont even want to take him anywhere because I am terrified he will poop!!

Someone please help me!!!!!!!!

Have you tried a changing pad with a belt? He'd still be able to squirm but he'd be kind of restrained. I can't imagine he could make to much of a mess if it's snug enough on his waist.

Haha I had the same problem

get a loonnng belt from like, the mens dept at walmart.. And use it like the changing stations in public restrooms.. Take it under the changing table and then up around .Trace. It wont completely stop him but he wont be able to move enuf to get crap everywhere.

Oh lord .Logan does the exact same thing. It is annoying as hell Mad

it really tests my patience espcially when poo starts going everywhere. I just grin and bare it cause we don't have those strap changing mats (as far as I know)

Brayden does this too, he gets really mad at me. I always give him something he knows he's not supposed to play with, like my purse and that usually makes him stop real quick. He likes getting in my wallet and taking all the money out (not change) hahahaha.

Brayden knows when he has new things too, so I usually buy a bag of small toys and give him one when nothing else will help, he'll stop for a new toy anyday. And it's not expensive bag of toys or anything, just cheap nick nacks (that he cant choke on)

Lol. I need to try that .D! Layla's fave thing at the moment is somehow getting hold of my make-up and drawing on herself with it. She goes in my handbag all the time and takes it out. I put it on top of the wardrobe now so she's pi$$ed off! Evil or Very Mad

Lmao, I think everyone has this problem!! Oni's been doin it since she was 5, almost 6 months.

I have a changing pad with a strap. She still twist and gets on her belly....But while i'm wiping, I grab her feet and lift em up. Try it, he won't be *able* to go anywhere.

It's funny, she gets soo frustrated cuz she *wants* something and can't get it cuz I got her feet.

It's like gator wrestling!

My duaghter has been doing the exact same thing since she was about 6 months old, no matter what I give her to look at, she's over it within seconds, and is a vertual houdini when it comes to wriggling around under the stupid strap thing on the changing table.
When I hold her feet, she just raises her bum up off the table, and twists- i'll still be holding her ankles, but i'll be getting the rear view.

I once heard a tip where you hold a balloon in your mouth and blow it up and then let it down and stuff to keep the babies attension- I did try it, but found I needed a hand to hold the balloon while I inflated t, and maeve just wanted to grab a hold of it and play with it herself- which I did let her do, figuring, hey, whatever keeps you still- but she realised within 5 seconds she couldn't blow it up, and was extra annoyed.

Maybe baloon in conjunction with belt, and some speedy wiping!!!
Plus- get used to it, maeve is now almost 13 months, and still fighting every change.

This thread has really made me laugh because my son is just the same and it can be soooo frustrating! His favourite habit is lifting his arse off the mat and doing loads of 'pelvic thrusts' while reaching round to grab the nappy i've just undone. He also likes to thrust his hands down to his butt and play with the sh*t, then looks at his hands like '"wow! How did that happen?!"

aaaaaaaaghhhhhhh!!!! Mad

That is a normal stage. Distraction is key. Put pictures around the changing table and try to get him to focus on them or hand him a toy. Anything to keep him still. Flying crap is not fun!Lol hope it gets better soon! :d

I just use huggies supreme. I signed up to get coupons in the mail at huggies' website. And I go to walmart or sams and buy cases.

Give him a toy to play with, on another not I always put a diaper underneath the one he wearing, rip off the other one and just tape the other one on. Wait till he starts pulling off his diaper and crap flies eveywhere!
