now that is cruelty!!!

But I don't think people are commiting "child abuse" for snipping foreskin if it's in their heritage.

I wuuub foreskin! Hahahahha!!

good point, .Kay. The one I watched did not use a numbing agent. But what they did was use a tool that retracted the skin, and then tightened where the incision was to be performed. They left it like that for a minute or so to help the nerves go numb a bit. It reduced the pain without using medication. Does that make sense?

The doctors don't just grab the skin and cut into it, if that's what some people were thinking. Just trying to clarify!

I know how bad it hurts .Baron to pull his skin back, and to me, what you saw was cruel.

That sucks...

a 1999 study by the american academy of pediatrics (aap) task force on circumcision concluded that circumcision should not be recommended as a routine procedure for newborn males.

So it is purely personal preference.

To I heart-
they do not always using numbing agents.
In fact, they did nothing for my son but give him tylenol immediately before.
Are you kidding me?!!!!!

He came back, screaming, he was crying so hard he couldnt catch his breath. He was one freaking day old. He sounded like he was being murdered!. I felt heartbroken, helpless. I had no idea it was going to be like that. I just burst into tears and cried with him.

I really wish I had done my reasearch before the event. I agreed to it, because my boyfriend wanted it done. In reality, he hadnt done any research, he just thought since he was circumaized, that that is how it was "supposed" to be.

This is why I research everything like mad now.

I had my son circumcized and he basically slept through it the only time he cride is when the pinned him down cause it was cold during the actuall procedure he slept.

Circumcision has its pros and cons, it is easier to keep clean which can result in less infections unless the child is properly shown how to retract the skin and clean it himself.

The other benefit to circumcision is that it can reduce the percentage of that person getting prostate cancer later in life.

>i know ppl who are uncircumcized and never had any problems, I also know people who are uncircumcized and had to get circumcized later in life. I also have a friend who they didnt cut enough of the skin off during the circumcsion and he he had to have it redone.

In the jewish religion they do not use numbing agents to circumcise their male babies but that is a religious matter.

I think female circumcision is torture!

llike I said earlier, these claims have been found to be entirely false in the most recent research.
Almost all of the world chooses not to circumsize, and yet their penises are fine.

If those claims were so true, then everyone would get circumsized.

I"m sorry you had to go through that .Nat. I can only imagine a newborn screamin in such agony. Crying or Very sad

if you have another son would you do it? I mean, it would be a hard decision. And an awkward convo when the younger bro asks why his weinie is different from his big brothers! Lol

if my man was circumcised, I probably would have a hard time deciding. It's not uncommon for the men in my family to be uncircumcised due to my culture. None of .Baron's brother's are cut either...

We've(our families) discussed this when I first got pregnant.

*******************************

of every 1,000 boys who are circumcised:

*

20 to 30 will have a surgical complication, such as too much bleeding or infection in the area.

*

2 to 3 will have a more serious complication that needs more treatment. Examples include having too much skin removed or more serious bleeding.

*

2 will be admitted to hospital for a urinary tract infection (uti) before they are one year old.

* about 10 babies may need to have the circumcision done again because of a poor result.

N rare cases, pain relief methods and medicines can cause side effects and complications. You should talk to your baby’s doctor about the possible risks.

Of every 1,000 boys who are not circumcised:

*

7 will be admitted to hospital for a uti before they are one year old.

*

10 will have a circumcision later in life for medical reasons, such as a condition called phimosis. Phimosis is when the opening of the foreskin is scarred and narrow because of infections in the area that keep coming back. Older children who are circumcised may need a general anesthetic, and may have more complications than newborns.

Uncircumcized boys are also more at risk for std dpending on the std some of them are are due to hygiene

http://www.Caringforkids.Cps.Ca/babies/cir cumcision.Htm
im not telling people to get their kids circumcized but they should get something that is unbiased...

My son was done out of a cultrual setting truly I had no care whether he was cicrcumsized or not that decision I left to their father.

i think that contracting an .S.T.D has *nothing* to do with whether they have foreskin or not. That is the dumbest thing i"ve ever heard(directed to the Dr.S that claim this, not you <3!)

whether or not a boy has foreskin shouldn't be a huge part of his life. He should know no better.

If any little boys ask "why doesn't my pee pee look like his", simply explain.

I don't understand the hygiene issue. Why is it so important for an uncircumsized boy to make sure it's clean and all that and not so much for a circumsized boy? I was thinking maybe the best idea would be for him to get it done himself when he's old enough to make the decision, just like I won't be baptizing my child when they are born. They can also make that decision themselves (my family are anabaptists-modern day mennonite brethrens) I just honeslty never thought of circumcision as a big deal . I see now I really have to look into it.

I didn't baptise .Oni for the same reason. It's not my choice of what religion, if any, she chooses.

Foreskin/circum.
I swore I would always have a son circumsized, but after watching a program on it I quickly changed my mind. My son is now 9 and still has his foreskin and it does not bother him one bit. Once he could retract it, I taught him how to clean it well and to this day he has had zero problems with it. I feel that if he wants this done, that it should be his own choice. I am not critizing other people that have had it done, this was just my ex's and my preference.

.I don't think baptism really works anyway until the child is able to understand the meaning. We're waiting until .Aly is able to understand about .God and .Jesus.

Chuy has already been christened. Since I have strong religious beliefs I believe it is in my son's best interest to share my beliefs. When he's grown if he chooses to go another way then that's up to him. I'm not the sort of person that tries to thrust my beliefs onto strangers though. I don't like people like that. I believe that everyone is capable of making their own decision as to what if any religion they want to practice.
As for circumcision, there are some people in our religion that try to make it a religious issue. I say that unless you're jewish it shouldn't be a religious issue at all. What am I talking about? I don't even know.... Confused
