I'm a little upset and confused..I have been on my pill (lutera) for about 8 months now. Every month I get it on time. However, last thursday I had the brown spotting.....Enough that I had to wear a panty liner...At that time, I still had 2 active pills left...As of yesterday it turned more reddish like a period...Is it ever going to stop? First 4 days of brown stuff now 2 days of period...Will it stop when I take my active pills again? I only have more more days until then..

Please help..

It's breakthrough bleeding. It's probably the most common side effect of being on the pill. It's nothing to worry about, just annoying. You may have it next month again, you may not. Normally, it's unpredictable. If it continues for several months or is bothersome (say you're spotting 3 weeks every month), you should call your doc and try changing to another brand of pill.
