Getting Pregnant Answer A2011
The duration of a menstrual period (the actual menstruation) has no significance in estimating the number of fertile days throughout the menstrual cycle. The fertile days of the cycle are the days around ovulation, which happen about 14 days before the next expected menstruation. Therefore, you must calculate backwards from the next expected menstruation...this is helpful if your cycle is regular, but nearly impossible if your menstrual cycle is irregular.
