Hey everyone, how r u all? If your pregnant, how are your pregnancys doing and how far along today? (i am 15 weeks and 5 days today, only 2 days till im 4 months! Im excited about that) and if u already have a kid/kids, how are they?? Everyone feeling okay? Just checking up!

K heres my 2 small concerns

1) sleeping.. Ive read its not good to sleep on your back while pregnant because good air supply and circulation doesnt get to your body and baby.. Normally I sleep on my side.. But I woke up this morning and I had been sleeping on my back , for a while but I dont know how long.. What do u girls think about this? Maybe its nothing to worry about but I do worry anyhow, I swear its all I do...

2) caffeine and aspartame- ok I never used to drink pop unless it was diet...But my doctor told me that aspartame (which is in diet soda) is not good for the baby...But I still once n a while have this..Also, do u girls cut out caffeine totally or still have it sometimes? I still have it sometimes but not everyday..My doc told me that part is okay tho.

R either of these anything to worry about? Thanks!

Well I am not sure how far long I am, maybe 4 weeks! Christina is doing great!

As for your first question, sleeping on your back is ok, until the 3rd trimester, when the pressure is on your lungs and oxygen won't flow as easily.

For your second, diet coke every once in a while is ok, it won't hurt the baby! Congratulations on almost hitting 4 months!!

I am 19 (will be 20 in may) and I have a daugher named jayden who will be six months on the 7th.

And about the back question: there is a main artery running down your back its called the ( inferior vena cava) which is the vein responsible for returning blood from the lower part of your body to your heart, and the pressure from laying on your back can slow the blood flow down and cause the baby to get less oxygen, cause hypotension or low blood pressure. It's okay if you wake up on your back, I used to do that alot. Just when you are awake, try to sleep on your left side with a pillow between your legs. That is the best position for both you and the baby. It allows maximum blood flow and nutrients to the placenta but also enhances efficient kidney function which in turn helps out with swelling in your feet, hands, and ankles. But please do not worry if you wake up this way..No harm done. Just switch positions when you find yourself doing that.

As far as the caffine goes. The main reasons you shouldn't drink it are because it can spoil your appetite, cause rapid heartbeat or irregular heartbeat in the baby, and it will make you have to urinate a heck of alot more than you probably do already. Just cut back as much as you can. I drank alot of cola while I was pregnant. I just craved the sweetness. I had a perfectly health baby girl. Don't worry hun.

Its Okay
Hi, my name is heather. I am 18 and 15 weeks and 2 days preggy. I was told by my Dr. To sleep on my left side because it allows good air flow to you and the baby.
I was also told not to drink mountain dew anymore because of the caffeine being so high. I will sneek and have a Dr. Pepper once in a while cause I crave the sweetness. My doctor said every once in a while is fine, not to drink to much because it causes decreased birth weight and smaller head size in newborns. She took that analogy from drinking 800mg of caffeine a day or 4 cups of coffee. Like I said I still have one once in a while and she said thats fine.

Kari, if you are able to breath normally, then your baby is getting enough oxygen, you both are going to be fine sweetie!
