Q: Partial hysterectomy with monthly bleeding
asked by: DoctorQuestion on December 11th, 2006
I had a partial hysterectomy in 1998. I still have my ovaries. I had the partial because I was bleeding non-stop, I cant remember what my Dr. called it.
Anyway, I still bleed. For about the past year, I spot about once a month. Sometimes, it's kind of heavy lately. I also cramp very badly, all of the time.
My question is, What do you think it possibly could be? & is it normal?

Hysterectomy Answer A1984
A partial hysterectomy indicates that the body (corpus) of the uterus was removed but that the cervix remains. This vaginal bleeding, once a month, followed by cramps is not normal and you have to visit your gynecologist immediately!
