My wife fell in the yard and required hip surgery. Doctor put in three screws. She has had constant pain and nothing seems to phase the pain. She takes advil to help. The doctor has taken several x-rays and last week did a catscan. Doctor said he could not find anything new. His only thought was to take the screws out to see if that would help. We saw the tv special about a month ago. Any thoughts about the pain and the idea of removing the screws.

Screw Removal From Hip Fx
I have had two surgeries where they broke my pelvis to re-align the hip socket. The second surgery didn't fix it either and so he took the screws out so they could do a 3d cat scan.... Any-hoo long story short, taking the screws out gave me some relief, but also made my leg hurt in a different way now too. I would say it is worth a try since she dosen't need the screws anymore, and as long as she is healed and there is nothing new on the x-rays the screws really could be the cause. It was a very easy surgery for me compared to the others of course, and very little down time. I think about a week...Then I was back at the gym. Good luck. I hope she feels better soon.
