Hey here is an update as I haven't updated in a long while... I am currently on bed rest as I have high blood pressure and its not going down... Ive been on bed rest since I was 21 weeks and I am now 22wks and 5 days and I have 2 stay on bed rest till I am 24 weeks. On the 5th december I had a fall and I landed on my back badly and I got rushed to hospital because I couldn't move and I just wanted to make sure the girls were ok. And they found out I had a crack in the bottom of my spine. I was in intensive care for 2 days and then on maternity for 2 days. They sent me home this afternoon and said I have to be on bed rest for the next 2 months or so.. Which wud take me up to 5th feb 2007 when I have to go back to see the doc bout my back to see if its healed or not. And ill be 31 weeks. I went to the doctor last week and he said the girls are growing well which is great... And hes shedualed me in for a c-section on the 5th of march... Ill be 35 weeks when I have the girls.. I'm so scared now cos I don't know if there lungs will be fully developed or not.. And I was so hoping for a normal delivery because I didn't want to be laid up in bed for 2 weeks.

Why would they schedule your c-section for 35weeks? That's just retarded.

sorry but that whole post fails to make sense.

So are you on bed rest until 24 weeks (3 weeks) or until 31 weeks (about 2 months) Question

and you've got a doc who schedules c-sections 3 months in advance??? Arrow which would result in premature babies? Hmmm
true multiples are often born early but unless there is a medical condition at the time of the c-section no doc would plan it for the babies to be premature.
After you might have a perfectly healthy pregnancy that safely goes to term - you just can't tell at this stage.

I am on bed rest till 24 weeks for my high blood pressure

then i'm also on bed rest for a further 2 months or so for my back til 31 weeks.

There is actually a problem with the twins they both have water on the brain which I have also... I was born at 35 weeks by c-section and I had an operation after I was born. And the twins will have an operation after they are born so that is why i'm having them at 35 wks.

I don't understand how having them 5 weeks early will be good for them. Why not wait another 37 weeks til you are full term?

They are delicate enough with water on the brain, surely being born 5 weeks early will jeopardise them further? Confused

is this condition hereditary? Do you know a lot about it because you suffered from it?

for the safety of the mother/twins they will usually be born by c-section 34-36 weeks when there is complication. Having water in the brain isnt a bad thing if it is drained but too much water/pressure can be fatal.

Im assuming the dr doesnt want you moving for the fact it may put stress on you or the twins well good luck honey you have got a hard road ahead of you!

Its not defnitely hereditary but it can be and in my case it is... Draining water on the brain at one time is not the case.. They have to put a shunt in the brain and then a tube that leads to the stomach so that water is drained naturally... The shunt and tube is kept in for their whole lives and will be changed when they are between 6-10 depending on how tall they are.

If I have them any later the pressure from the water on their brains could cause fatal damage. So that is why they are being born at 35 weeks when their lungs are matured enough. For them to be able to be operated on.

well at least you are armed with knowledge about it all. Best of luck to you - it must be tough being on bedrest. Nice in some ways of course but frustrating i'm sure!

Hey here is my xmas update... The last time I updated was the 26/12/06 and its now 02/01/07... I had a great xmas the girls kept me up alot of the time with their constant kicking and now its punching aswell... Which I just love... I got loads of xmas presents for me and some for the girls which I wasn't expecting at all... But it does help cos I have to start plainng to get things ready as its only another 8 weeks and 6 days to go till I have them... I'm 26wks 2day. I went away for a few days for the new yr... It was really good to get away... My family and a few friends have arganised a baby shower for me on the 27th jan i'm so excited about that... Hopefully ill get most of the stuff that I still need.. Im planning of trying to finish the nursery this week as I go back to college on the 8th. And I won't have time or the engry to do anything after I go back to college.
My ex is still being a health questions which is really annoying me... Even though I have another bf who I love I still love my ex.. I don't know y I love him but I do.... I know its rong to love him but I just can't seem to get him out my head..All ive done is think about him all day every day since the 21/12/06... Everytime I try and talk to him I just want to cry. Ive thought about telling him how I feel but i'm just scared that ill get hurt and I don't want that. I hate loving 2 people I just which I could stop loving my ex. He still hasn't asked how the twins are and that really hurts.. I'm also scared that the girls will look more like my ex than me and I duno if I can cope with looking at them everyday and wishing things could of been different. He hasn't bought a single thing for the girls or been to any of my scans.. So he doesn't care about them. We used to actually get on when we first split up and then there was the whole thing about us still having sex but then I ut a stop to that in november and ever since then he has been *****ing about me to his mates and giving me dirty looks when he sees me and ignoring me. So I was thinking he hates the idea of us not having sex anymore. He has even told his mates that hes not the father and that I was sleeping with another guy. Anyway thats enough of rambling on about that. Hope u all had a gr8 xmas and new year!

My oldest child looks a lot like my ex. But I just think that I got the best part of him because if him and I hadnt of made love them I would of never of had my beautiful child. Just look at it that way hun and like they say time will eventually heal the heart. Best of luck to you.
