Q: Knee replacement surgery and implant joint
asked by: DoctorQuestion on December 9th, 2006
Hello cyberfolks! I'm soon to undergo the knife (knee replacement). My question is how do I (and the doctors) know what size implant my knee requires so that it works right? Is there a webguide that shows how this is determined?
I don't like surgeries or hospitals in the first place, and I like to know how things are supposed to work.
This is a kneeD-to-Know thing (LOL!)

A knee replacement is indicated when a knee joint becomes so damaged from disease or injury that its function is completely lost. Details for each operation (such as those that you ask about the size of the replacement joint) are individual and depend upon the patient and the specific operation and techniques recommended. You can consult your orthopedist for precise details and to get educated before the procedure.
