Q: Very Urgent Question, Desperate! Please Help!!!

Hi. First off, I am circumcized. Over the last year and a half, the skin near the tip of my penis, especially on top within about .5 cm from the urethra, is extremely sensitive all the time and it feels terrible chafing all the time. I used to wear boxers, and it got absolutely terrible. I would have to literally hold it in place going up stairs etc. I then switched over to briefs, which was much better, but not perfect. Since then, briefs have slowly gotten worse and worse, and now it is quite uncomfortable and annoying. Every step, if it is not held perfectly in place, it feels like someone is rubbing sandpaper really hard on my tip! I got advice from 2 different doctors, and both said to try twice a day using hydrocortizone cream, saying it would be noticeably better within a few weeks. It has now been almost 2 months, and nothing. Neither doctor has any more ideas, other than just wearing briefs, which I am already doing. It is not from over or aggressive masterbation. Yesterday, I bought some really small briefs which do an excellent job of holding it in place, but it is still far from ideal. There is no redness or irritation, and I have no std's. The skin is just unfortably supersensitive and it feels awful rubbing on anything. Does anyone have any ideas at all?! Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I'm not quite sure, but my boyfriend had a similiar problem when we were first sexually active. Sometimes he would get my vaginal fluid on the tip of his penis (during foreplay) and it would become irritated. We both are negitive for std's, so maybe his skin is just sensitive. I don't know if you are sexually active or not, but maybe this could be part of the problem.

Thanks for the idea, but no, it definitely has nothing to do with that

I can't help you, i'm afraid but I have to thank you for putting this out there. This is one of the main reasons that I am so against circumcision.

The head of the penis *is* sensitive and the foreskin plays an important part in protecting that sensitive place.

The only thing I could remotely think of it de-sensitisation.
Whereby you regularly touch the head to de-sensitise it to contact. It'll take a long time and won't be perfect but it may help.

hi there circumcision is not the problem it is the simple allergic reaction in my thought you must use some antihistamines , I think that it will solve your problem.

actually, circumcision causes hyper-sensitivity in many men.

And suggesting someone use drugs, when you know nothing of the case is plain daft.

Kingfastlane: do not use drugs without your doctors ok on the matter.

I disagree with sunny on the circumcision thing - I too am against it. I think you wouldn't be having this problem if you were uncut. But he/she may be on to something about the allergic reaction comment. It's really common to have an allergy to washing powder, i'm allergic to persil for example. If the allergy isnt severe it could just perhaps manifest itself solely in this really sensitive area. If you've tried everything else you may as well try changing your washing powder brand, maybe use a 'sensitive' one, use a gentle fabric conditioner, and put your clothes on an extra rinse when you use the washing machine. It's worth a try, right?

Other than that i'm sure there's nothing else I can suggest to you that you haven't tried already. Except maybe ask the advice of a doctor who gives a sh*t and doesn't fob you off! Good luck x

Hi again. First of all, everyone i've talked to who is uncut says that their head is extremely sensitive. Many who later get circumcized find it absolutely amazing, and love it. I really don't think my problem has anything to do with allergies, as I have tried different detergent in my laundry, and I already do not use soap on my head.

When were you circumcised? If it was at birth then I have nothing for you. Nut of you were circumcised at a later age, then maybe the head of your penis needs to get used to it. Good luck.
