Hi...Well I have been with my boyfriend for awhile and we both really want to have sex. We r going to use a condom, but i'm not on birth control. If we use it right and everything, is there a possibility that I could get pregnent?

Yes.
Condoms used 100% correctly are 98-99% effective.

That means for every 100 couples using condoms properly 1 or 2 will get pregnant.

To help your self make sure you buy condoms that have either the british kite mark (if in the uk) or in the usa that they are fda approved (or iso approved elsewhere in the world) and aim to get condoms that contain a spermicidal lubricant, that will help kill any sperm if you do have an accident.

Never double condoms up as the friction can cause them to tear.
Never used any oil based lubes as this can cause condoms to burst.

Big props to you for thinking first and making a sensible choice to protect your self.

Condoms are not 100% reliable. Neither is birth control. The only 100% way to keep from getting pregnant is not having sexual contact.

Having said that, if you use it correctly, condoms have a 95% chance (.I'm guessing there, it might be higher/lower) of protecting you. They will also help protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

It's a great idea to protect yourself. Good job and good luck!

*edit* I typed this a few minutes ago, but didn't hit reply til just now. Kia's advice is golden, so go with hers Wink

Nothing is foolproof. Including, but not limited to, birth control .A.N.D condoms.
