My daughter-in-law has had several episodes of the following:
starts with tingling in her fingers.
She becomes unbalanced and unable to walk without assistance
her speech becomes very slured and she has a hard time expressing herself.
She will sleep for hours on end
doesn't want to eat or drink we have to take her to get iv's
she has no control over her motor functions
she is only 25 years old.
We have had mri's eeg blood test of every kind. We live in a small rural area though we have taken her to a large medical center in asheville nc. All the test show nothing abnormal yet this has happened repeatedly about every six months. The consenses of the doctors is that it is in her head. Please help if you have any idea what this maybe.
We are at our wits end we don't believe it is pyscological.

Kathy I believe it is multiple sclerosis. Did you ask your doctor if he thought that what it was? Multiple sclerosis doctor are not quick to say we have it when we do because they dont want to put there time into finding out what is wrong with us. We need to put our foot down and say look I need to know what is wrong with me now. Dont leave his office until you do. That the only way your going to get what you need. So think bold and dont take no for and answer. Let me know whats up your friend joan

That scares the daylights out of me! I'm only 23, and to think what that poor women goes through everyday makes me feel so sad. I have m.S., and it's a neurological disease, the symptoms are different for everyone.
