I have had a pain in my left side right under my ribs for a long time. Its not a sharp pain, but a constant ache and pressure. The urologist says that my kidney stone should not be causing this pain because its in the wrong area (not in an area where it is passable yet). Sometimes it kind of gurgles there. None of my Doctors can tell me what is wrong. Sometimes I feel wore down, irritable and have sensativity to sound. Not sure where that comes in. Any suggestions or relief I can get for this condition.

Kidney Conditions Answer A1913
It is typical for a kidney stone to manifest severe, sharp pain in one side of the lower back . Pain from a kidney stone irradiates from the back to the front side of the lower abdomen and down to the inguinal and genital region. A constant ache and pressure under the left ribcage, however, doesn’t seem likely to be due to a kidney stone. You need further examinations such as a physical examination, abdominal ultrasound, and blood analyses (blood count, sedimentation, liver status, renal status etc.) to identify the real reason for the abdominal ache you are experiencing. You can consult an internist about that. Emotional irritation and sensitivity to sound are probably not related with the abdominal pain.
