It seems that birth control pills do not cause infertility! OCPs (oral contraceptive pills) only cause a temporary lapse in fertility while a woman takes them and during the process of withdrawal from them. Temporary infertility is an expected side effect of birth control pills and it usually lasts a few months. The maximum period for establishing full fertilization and the ability to ovulate is 2 years.
