Q: I Got Diagnosed With Chlamydia, I Have a Few Questions

I got diagnosed with chlamydia a couple days ago and am not quite educated on the topic. I have been dating my girlfriend for almost 2 years now and she is the only girl I have sex with. I told her about it and she is being treated for it now. I read that it is most likly from women who are young and their cervex is not fully matured and is at risk to infection. My question is: is chlamydia a disease that forms on its own or does it have to be passed during sexual intercorse, I was just concerned it might be from another man and I don't want to make any false accusations without knowing where this could have come from.

chlamydia can be transmitted during vaginal, anal, or oral sex.

any sexually active person can be infected with chlamydia. The greater the number of sex partners, the greater the risk of infection. because the cervix (opening to the uterus) of teenage girls and young women is not fully matured, they are at particularly high risk for infection if sexually active. Since chlamydia can be transmitted by oral or anal sex, men who have sex with men are also at risk for chlamydial infection.

Yea i've seen that before, my question is,
if my girlfriend is sexually active with only me, can chlamydia still be transmitted? Like, does it have to come from another person.

Ok, my girlfriend was raped back in july and she got a std test and everything came back negative. Could it be that it takes a little while for it to surface, i'm just concerned she may have cheated on me, I was away with the army and there were some questions raised but she was telling the truth, as least I thought so, i'm just trying to figure things out, I questioned her about it and she stands by what she said in the past.

chlamydia probably wouldn't have shown up on the rape kit, if that is what you are talking about. And there is a possibility it showed up later.

Sexually transmitted disease means, it is transmitted sexually. Meaning you couldn't have gotten it off a toilet seat, you could have only gotten it by engaging in unprotected sex.

My advice is to always, always, always wear a condom. You are helping prevent disease and you are helping prevent pregnancy. It is win-win!

I would question any relationship I was in where I worried about my partner cheating.
