well, 2 1/2 hours after scheduled appointment time we got home. We were there forever. First off they did her 9 month check up...And that was fine, and she slowed down with the growing (mostly because she was sick) and she's only gained 3 ounces since .November 13th.
But then when they got to the follow up part, .I lost it. The doc said they couldn't use the samples .I brought in so after .I bawled my eyes out and about decked this guy, he explained to me thouroughly why it had to be done in such a manner, etc. So he asked if .I wanted to step out while they did it, but .I said no way in hell. But before they did the catheter we had to go get some blood drawn. They poked her 3 doing it times. The first one she didn't cry, the second one she did....But .I do believe it was because she was held down, then the 3rd time she was just sick of it! But they were finally able to get it from her finger. So that took forever.....Then we had to go back and have her urine sample done. We walked very slow on our way back. But they got the sample much quicker this time and she didn't cry quite as much. But the poor kid slept so much that night, she was exhausted from fighting so much. But her blood came back good, and her iron is where it's supposed to be, etc. Now .I'm still waiting on the urinalysis. Which someone from the clinic called my cell this morning while .I was at work, but didn't leave a message. When .I called back the .Dr was gone. Soooooooo he's supposed to call me when he gets back, about 3:30 this afternoon. *sigh* oh...And she also has to have a u/s done on her kidneys Rolling Eyes when does it end? And, she got a flu shot, and has to go back in a month for the second flu shot. She didn't cry for that tho, thank goodness. My poor lil monster.
She's 21lbs 7oz and 28 and 1/4 inches long.

Yeah, and if that test somehow comes back positive, someone is going to be sorry.
You have no idea how terrible .I feel, .I feel like .I completely failed my baby girl. I tried everything so she wouldn't have to do that again. Crying

Well hey, you tried, right? And at least you're looking out for her health and consented to them taking it, instead of leaving it when there might still be an infection there! You're a good mommy, and she's so lucky to have you!

Thank you.
He told me about his friends little girl, and how she was sick and they had to do a catheter for her, and this lady refused and walked out, and the little girl ended up getting very sick and that lead to some kidney problem. So, .I knew it had to be done....But just not like that. Hopefully she won't have any more ever, and if she insists on getting one again, .I hope it's when she's at least old enough to pee on command.

Yeah, that's a good point. I don't want her to remember any of it! Right now she's drinking her bottle. Trying to, tho the dog keeps jumping up to the couch with his dumb little frog. He thinks .Adriana knows how to play fetch. Rolling Eyes

Oh man girl!!

I would've cried too...I mean seriously, I feel soo bad for her right now. But I bet she wouldn't remember it if she wanted it now!!

I *always* have them take blood fromher heel.

2 months ago, .Oni was anemic. Last month (at her 6 month check up) she had to have her flu shot and blood drawn again! But it's soooo quick when it's from the heel!!

She was pissed, of course, but it wasn't 3 pokes!! Ouch!!

At her 7 month appt is when they wanted her urine.

I'm scared now that she'll get one. I mean, the nurse said the dr doesn't believe in cathedarising anyone without pain relief(ie and epidural)

but man, i'm nervous now!!!!

I'm glad it all over for tee bebe....::phew:: huh .Adrianna?

Shots ain't sh't! Hahahha, it's the painful things like what .Adrianna's going through that I don't like!!

I got over the whole shot thing, when at her 4 month appt she got 4, and at her 5 month, she got 5!!!! Shocked

i make them explain every last shot!! They didn't offer, but I demanded a shot list and have it dated and signed. Not only for me, but if we have to evacuate for a hurricane and something happens, I want to make sure I have all her records!

Thankfully .Adriana is over the shot stage (for awhile anyways....I think)
but .I hated those too. I cried right along with her. She rarely cries at home, so when .I hear her cry .I know she's very unhappy...So hard.

They wanted me to hold .Aly down while they gave the shots, and I refused. Aaron did it and I turned completely around and stared at the corner of the room. And when they were done I was the first one to pick her up and comfort her. I didn't want her associating me with that pain at all!

I demanded that .Aaron take .Tuesday off from work again, because he'll be holding her down again. I just can't do it.

They make you hold her down?!?!?!?!? That's obserd!!!!!!

I wouldn't participate it in either!! Nana just sits there. They poke her and she feels the sting and starts crying...

After that...They stick her fast as lightening!! She doesn't have time to move around!

They normally give her 2 in each leg. They only use 2 bandades!

Yes! I was like "are you insane??"

they wanted us to hold her leg still so she wouldn't yank it back, I guess. I really don't know. They said "hold her down" and I flipped out.

Oh no indeed!! I'd be like you *must* be crazy!

That's crazy, but hey, some nurses might think that you'd get mad if *they* did it as opposed to yall doin it, ya know?

I mean, all you gotta to is poke and push...How long could that possibly take for them?
