Q: *sigh*

Extremely EHEALTHy
To top off an excellent ( Rolling Eyes ) day, my sister (who is severely bipolar) just had the worst meltdown .I've ever seen her have. She was throwing things, slamming things around, she had a knife to herself, she hit my dad &threw things at him, &threw my parents dinner all over the kitchen floor, &almost came at me. She broke a bunch of stuff in the kitchen, &some glass stuff upstairs. My mom is hysterical, &my dad is about to have a freaking heartattack.

They just left for a crisis center or the emergency room.

This has gone on long enough, &.I've been waiting for my parents to take this step for so long.

I'm scared, but relieved at the same time.
Hopefully, she'll finally get some help.

Just keep my parents &my sister in your thoughts.

I think we need a miracle.

I hope they are able to help your parents. Living in an environment like that must be so stressful and awful!

I'll keep them in my thoughts hun!

No meds, yet.
She's been struggling with this for years,
&she has an appointment with a doctor in .January
to get on some medication.

But tonight was the last straw, &we all knew
that she had to go *immediately* .. So,
hopefully they'll keep her there overnight.
Or something.

It's really bad.

At least if they keep her the night, it'll give you and your parents a night to relax before they have to deal(no disrespect intended) with her again.

No disrespect taken! It's true. It's a daily hassle dealing with her.

I just really really hope they can do something to help her tonight.

I don't think your sister needs meds.

I think she's probably just a spoilt brat who has gotten her way waaaaay to long.

Sorry you are having a shitty day krissy!

sorry tanyaface, but a bipolar rage is nothing like the tantrum of an overly spoiled brat. Most of the time, the person who is in the midst of the rage cannot control it. It is a frightening experience for the person raging as well as those around him or her. Often, medication is necessary to control the mood swings that accompany this disorder and it can take several tries of different medications before finding the one or the combination of several that works for that particular person.

Arcadia, there is a bipolar support forum, if you are interested. My son has struggled with adhd and a mood disorder since he was very small (diagnosed at 5) and they only just recently diagnosed him with bipolar (now age 9) after 4 years in treatment. It does get better, so hang in there and good luck.

I agree somewhat with .Tanya.

But you never know if she may be bipolar.

But it could be exactly what .T said.

Either way, she needs anger management.

She is spoiled, but she is also diagnosed with bipolar disorder, manic depression, &ocd. It's really hard on her. &.Really hard for us. I know some of what she does she can't help. She loses control &all hell breaks loose. I can tell when she's just being a little nasty spoiled health forum, &when she's having one of the mood swings/meltdowns. It's a huge difference. &.It's really scary.

They took her to the .E.R last night, &she saw some doctors &a nurse, &they're getting her into this special place for kids who need serious help by .Friday, &they'll finally get her on meds &maybe keep her there for a day or a few days &work exclusively with her. It'll be really good for her.
